Youth Director

Thalia United Methodist church is seeking a part-time youth director.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person with interest and experience working with and growing Christian-based programs for youth in grades 6 through 12. The qualified candidate will be able to help the congregation plan, prepare and coordinate youth programs. The person will be responsible for developing special programs for youth, including retreats, recreation activities, service activities, educational opportunities, camps, etc. Active participation in all youth activities and church worship is required.

Summer Musical Theater Camp

 August 9-13

Registration is CLOSED. Sorry, but we are full and we are not taking any new registrations at this time. 

All children who have completed 1^st grade through 8^th grade have the opportunity to be part of our Summer Musical Theater Camp.  We also are accepting applications from high school students who would like to act as Stage Hands and Prop Masters.  August 9 – 13th we will be staging the musical, PROMISE U.  Camp begins each morning at 9:00 and runs until 2:00.  The performance will be Friday night at 7:00 p.m. Participation is mandatory each day as well as for Friday’s final performance.

This production is open to all youth and we’d love if your child would bring a friend to join in the fun.  There will be singing, dancing and straight acting parts and campers will participate in making props and set pieces.  The fee for the week is $25, and includes a music CD.  Contact Grace Holdren to discuss scholarship assistance.  Each child will need to bring a bagged lunch daily.

Vacation Bible School is coming to Thalia UMC July 12-16, 2010 from 9am to 12pm.
