Our youth will be traveling to this year's District Youth Retreat at the Rockbridge Alum Springs Young Life Retreat Center in Goshen, Va. They will leave Friday, Jan 27 and return Sunday, Jan 29. Our
Yard Sales for 2011 have concluded with another successful season.
Thank
you to all our vendors and to anyone else who came out for a yard sale this
year. We could not make these events happen without you.
The yard
sales will return on the second Saturday of April 2012, and continue on the
second Saturday of each month through October, 2012. We look forward to
seeing you then!
Dear TUMC Family-
Due to the serious nature of the impending storm and at the urging of our District Disaster Coordinator we have decided to cancel all Church Services and activities at Thalia for this Sunday. We prayerfully ask that each of you take the necessary precautions to remain safe during and following the Hurricane.
Since many of us live in heavily tree lined neighborhoods or areas prone to flooding, we have also decided to open up the TUMC facilities to Church members that wish to come here to ride out the storm. Mildred and Everett Stewart will be here beginning at 1pm Saturday. The main entrance by the administrative offices will be open at that time. Please bear in mind that we are not acting as a formal shelter and will not have our facility set up in that manner. If you choose to stay at Thalia you will need to bring items needed for a storm with you. We will also not offer shelter to pets.
While we continue to hope that the storm will lose intensity or change its path, given the information we have now, we feel that this is the best course of action for our Church family.
Our 2011 Musical Theater Camp was a huge success.
